Backyard Birdwatchers Yarn & Fiber Club, Second Edition

We’re bringing the birds back! 2021’s Backyard Birdwatchers Club was a huge success, and there are so many more birds to celebrate that we just had to do a second round! This listing will go live on Monday, June 13th, beginning at 9 a.m. eastern. You can purchase your membership spot(s) for whichever club option(s) you’d like to receive!

ALL THE DETAILS

Contents: This club is being offered on both yarn and fiber.

• Each full skein yarn shipment will include a 100-gram skein of a self-striping colorway inspired by one of the many beautiful birds that we have here at the mountain house, accompanied by two coordinating mini skeins.
• Each Shortie Sock Set yarn shipment will include a 50-gram skein of the self-striping colorway as well as the two coordinating mini skeins.
• Fiber shipments will include a 4 oz. braid of a variegated version of the same colorways along with two one-ounce coordinating mini bumps.

Colorways will remain exclusive to the club for at least 12 months. See the descriptions below in “Yarn and Fiber” for details on what is included with each option.

Shipping Dates: Shipments will be sent out within the last seven days of July, September, and November 2022.

Shipping: US club memberships will receive free shipping. Canadian and other International memberships will be charged a flat $20 fee covering all three shipments. Applicable shipping costs will be added to your order during check out.

Note that while we are offering this club to customers in any location, please be aware of your country’s current policies on mail coming in from outside of your own country. FDW is not responsible for any additional taxes/duty/fees imposed by your country, nor can we guarantee the speed of delivery in the current shipping climate.

YARN AND FIBER

Full skein yarn options include a 100-gram skein of self-striping plus two coordinating semi-solid 20-gram minis. Options are:

Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yards per 100-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 80 yards each.
Mountain Tweed BFL – fingering, 85/15 SW BFL/Nylon Nepp, 438 yards per 100-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 87 yards each.*
Heavenly – fingering, 80/10/10 SW Merino/Cashmere/Nylon, 438 yards per 100-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 87 yards each.
Fingering Weight Combo – one shipment each of Bounce, Heavenly, and Mountain Tweed BFL.
Traveler – sport, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 328 yards per 100-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 65 yards each.
Confetti Tweed Merino DK – DK, 85/15 SW Merino/Colored Donegal Nep (nylon), 246 yards per 100-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 49 yards each.

New this club, we are offering Shortie Sock Set options for the yarn club as well. Each Shortie Sock Set will include one 50-gram skein of the self-striping colorway along with two coordinating semi-solid 20-gram mini skeins. Options for the Shortie Sock Sets are:

Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 200 yards per 50-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 80 yards each.
Mountain Tweed BFL – fingering, 85/15 SW BFL/Nylon Nepp, 219 yards per 50-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 87 yards each.*
Heavenly – fingering, 80/10/10 SW Merino/Cashmere/Nylon, 219 yards per 50-gram skein. 20-gram minis are 87 yards each.
Fingering Weight Combo – one shipment each of Bounce, Heavenly, and Mountain Tweed BFL.

*Note that the minis that come with the Mountain Tweed BFL skeins will be Mountain Tweed Merino Fingering minis, not BFL.

Fiber will come in 4 oz. variegated braids with two coordinating one ounce semi-solid mini bumps. Options are:

100% Blue Faced Leicester
85/15 Polwarth/Silk Blend Top
85/15 Mixed BFL/Silk (Mixed BFL is a blend of light and dark BFL, creating a light brown fiber)
Fiber Combo – one shipment each of BFL, Polwarth/Silk, and Mixed BFL/Silk.
