Spring has finally sprung here in the mountains, and it’s come with inspiration on the breeze! The idea for Color Play #3 originally began to blossom in last spring, along with our dogwood tree, but the blooms passed before I could get the colorway together. This year, however, I was ready for it. Our beautiful tree blossomed into branches full of delicate shades: dewy ivory petals surrounding soft yellow and green centers, accents of brown, and tiny blushes of mauvey-purple that you can almost miss if you don’t look close enough.
This listing is for the fiber version of Color Play #3. The entire braid is dyed in the pale ivory Dew color, and then we add pops of the other four Color Play #3 colors – Dappled Yellow, Canopy Green, Loam Brown, and Blush Mauve – for a soft, delicate palette.
Shown on Falkland, we are dyeing this colorway on the following fibers:
Recommended care: Gently handwash yarn spun from these fibers and subsequent knitting items in cool water and a mild, wool-friendly wash product, if necessary. Hang or lay flat to air dry. This fiber will felt.
Note we heat set the colors in all of our yarns and fibers, but some residual color may be present and show itself the first time or two that you rinse your yarn, fiber, or finished projects. While this is normal and should not affect the color in your yarn or finished project, the amount of color present in the water can vary based on water or wash product pH, as well as the temperature of the water, length of time allowed to soak, and other variables. We recommend cool water and short soak times.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
