We’re excited to offer these new Shetland spinning sets!
Each set contains six ounces of Shetland top, divided into two ounce segments that were each dyed on a different base color of Shetland fiber – gray (lightest), moorit (medium – a reddish brown), and black (darkest, a mostly dark gray/black). Over-dyeing each of these natural shades with the same color results in a beautiful succession of colors that will be perfect for spinning into a gradient, a fade, or your own self-striping yarn. Or spin each one separately and use them for individual or colorwork projects!
We are dyeing these sets in four colorways:
All the Golds
Mirth (currently out of stock)
Recommended care: Gently handwash yarn spun from these fibers and subsequent knitting items in cool water and a mild, wool-friendly wash product, if necessary. Hang or lay flat to air dry. This fiber will felt.
Note we heat set the colors in all of our yarns and fibers, but some residual color may be present and show itself the first time or two that you rinse your yarn, fiber, or finished projects. While this is normal and should not affect the color in your yarn or finished project, the amount of color present in the water can vary based on water or wash product pH, as well as the temperature of the water, length of time allowed to soak, and other variables. We recommend cool water and short soak times.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
