The Around & About Hat, designed by Lisa Cannon, features our Cozy worsted weight base and showcases a band of two-color garter stitch in the midst of a snug fitting ribbed beanie or a slightly slouchy stockinette version. Five size options fitting toddlers through adults will make it easy to keep the whole family warm with colorful stripes going around and about their heads! This is a wonderful stash-busting project too, as the contrast color requires no more than 30 yards in any size or style.
This kit includes a pattern download code that is redeemable on Ravelry, which includes both style version of the hat, as well as a full skein of Cozy for your main color and two different colored quarter skein contrasting colors. The yarn included is enough to make two Around and About Hats, as long as you are making one of the larger two sizes and one smaller two sizes, or two of any of the first three sizes.
The ribbed version of the hat, shown in the first picture, was made with Raspberry (MC) and Soft Black (CC). The slouchy version was made with Merlot (MC) and Wisp (CC).
We are offering these kits in five ready-to-ship color sets:
Raspberry (MC)/Soft Black and Lime (CCs)
Merlot (MC)/Wisp and Amethyst (CCs)
Lime (MC)/Magenta and Soft Black (CCs)
Soft Black (MC)/Wisp and Magenta (CCs)
Caribbean Blue (MC)/Lime and Wisp (CCs)
Cozy – 100% SW Merino, worsted weight, 220 yards per skein; 55 yards per quarter skein.
This is a superwash yarn, so it can be gently machine washed on cool, using a gentle wool wash. However, we recommend hand washing any hand-dyed yarn using cool water and gentle wool wash. Air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color strengths can (and likely will) vary between dye batches and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
