Welcome to the first of our Color Play Collections! The idea behind these collections is a kind of dyer’s “play day,” choosing a set of colors and playing with it, creating a variety of colorways that are unique unto themselves while coordinating with each other.
Color Play Collection #1 was created around a set of our new dye colors to our line up. Give a yarn dyer new dyes, and it’s like giving a kid a new box of crayons. They must all be tried…immediately!
This self-striping skein features seven stripes dyed in our four newest colors – Perfect Mauve, Ginger Tea, Walnut, and Party Purple – along with combined with a custom blended burnt orange/red, and finally our Graphite and Eggplant colors. The second photo shows a representation of how this colorway stripes.
Shown on Bounce and Traveler, this colorway is currently available on:
Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yards per 100-gram skein
Mountain Tweed – fingering, 85/14 SW BFL/Nylon Nepp, 438 yards per 100-gram skein
Traveler – sport, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 328 yards per 100-gram skein
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color strengths can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
