I’ve recently become addicted to the pocast Ologies with Alie Ward. I’ve been binge listening to all of the past episodes while I dye, and I think I seriously could come up with an entire collection of Ologies-inspired colorways! I’m not sure if I will actually follow through on that (stay tuned!), but I was inspired by the Comology episode (a two-parter), in which I learned (among other things) that cosmic vertigo is actually a thing! Paraphrasing, it is the feeling of dizziness or overwhelm you feel when you try to think about the incomprehensible vastness of space. Deep, no? Yes. Literally. My Cosmic Vertigo colorway is my own interpretation of this dizzying concept.
(If you like learning and science-y things served with humor and some swearing, check out the Ologies podcast for yourself. You’ll find all of the episodes listed here. Not sponsored, just a fan.)
Cosmic Vertigo is available on the following bases:
Sunshine – light fingering weight, 100% SW Merino, 490 yards. (left, coiled)
Bedazzled – fingering, 75/20/5 SW Merino/Nylon/Stellina, 438 yards (middle)
Floof – lace weight, 72/28 Kid Mohair/Silk, 459 yards per 50 gram skein (right)
Recommended care: Sunshine and Bedazzled are superwash wools and can be machine washed, but we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat. Floof, being of delicate construction, we recommend hand washing only.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color strengths can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
