Fibernymph Dye Works is celebrating its 11th Anniversary this year! This year’s anniversary colorway is called Follow Your Path!
How this colorway came to be:
As I’ve continued this business for over a decade, I’ve taken time at the beginning of each year to reflect on where FDW has been, where it is currently, and where it is going. This year, as I contemplated those questions and reflected on the future, the message I kept receiving was: Follow your path!
From the start, my path has been focused on self-striping colorways and playing with colors in new and innovative ways. This colorway reflects both of those elements. Follow Your Path is a six-stripe colorway, with two wee stripes of Warm Gold and Almost White representing the path…on either side of the path are wider stripes – one one side there are semi-tonal stripes of dark gray-purple and deep red; on the other side there are subtly variegated stripes of bright turquoise blue and green, and rich purple with bursts of bright sea blue popping through. The stripes on either side of the path represent the things that can draw us away from the path…distractions maybe, or new interests. They’re neither good nor bad, they just are. Is it the right time to explore them? Maybe. Maybe not! That’s what we all need to decide as we follow our own paths.
Follow Your Path is available on the following bases:
Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yards per 100-gram skein
Bronzed Sparkle – fingering, 70/20/10 SW Merino/Nylon/Bronze Stellina, 438 yards per 100-gram skein
Mountain Tweed BFL – fingering, 85/15 SW BFL/Donegal Nepp (nylon), 438 yards per100-gram skein
Twist Fingering SW – fingering, 100% SW Light and Dark Merino, 437 yards per 100-gram skein
Mountain Tweed Merino DK – 85/15 SW Merino/Donegal Nep (nylon), 231 yards per 100-gram skein
Cozy – worsted, 100% SW Merino, 220 yards per 100-gram skein
We also have some discounted “Oopsie!” skeins of Follow Your Path, with the issues as noted below:
Oopsie! Bounce – moderate Warm Gold dye bled into the Almost White stripe, which will be noticeable once worked up.
Oopsie! Mountain Tweed BFL – one knot is present in these skeins and they are a wee bit lighter than full skeins, about 95 grams.
Oopsie! Traveler – a small amount of Warm Gold splattered into a couple spots of the Almost White stripe, which will cause a couple gold stitches to shop up occasionally within the white stripe areas.
Lastly, we have a few Follow Your Path pre-order sets on hand that included two coordinating minis:
Set 1 – Mountain Tweed BFL – fingering, 85/15 SW BFL/Donegal Nepp (nylon), 438 yards per100-gram skein + two 20-gram minis, 87 yd each (minis will be SW Merino/Donegal Nepp (nylon) rather than the BFL content)
Set 2 – Linnaeus – fingering, 70/20/21 SW Merino/Yak/Nylon, 437 yards per 100-gram skein + two 20-gram minis, 87 yd each
Set 3- Traveler – sport, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 328 yards per 100-gram skein + two 20-gram minis, 65 yd each
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
