Welcome the fourth installment of our Seasonal Pi collection: Soft Summer Palette Pi!
As I thought about various summer colors, the first place my mind went was to the beach. Watching the sunrise over the ocean, its warm light bringing soft hues to life, it seemed the perfect embodiment of summer for this Pi colorway. The five stripes include Light Sand, Sea Blue, Morning Sun Yellow, Seafoam Green, and Sunrise Peach.
Like all of our Pi Day colorways, the striping pattern is based on the numeric sequence of pi – 3.141592…, which is a non-repeating number. Thus, the stripe sequence does not repeat within the skein, and you will not be able to get a matching pair of socks (or anything) from a single skein. But if you’re a math geek, that’s part of the fun! We include a stitch marker affixed to the beginning of the sequence (Light Sand) so you can start your project with the first Pi digit, if you’d like to! Note that anywhere in the sequence where a zero occurs, the corresponding stripe is skipped, and the color progression will reflect that.
Soft Summer Palette Pi remains available on the following bases:
Bounce, Short Skein – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 340 yards per 85-gram skein (Note that this is a partial/short skein of this pi colorway, and it does not begin at the beginning of the pi number sequence. It is being pro-rated for the shorter yardage and also discounted for the fact that it does not start at the beginning of the pi sequence.)
Mountain Tweed BFL Fingering – fingering, 85/15 SW BFL/Donegal Nep (nylon), 438 yards per 100-gram skein
Mountain Tweed Merino DK – DK, 85/15 SW Merino/Donegal Nep (nylon), 231 yards per 100-gram skein
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
