Sweetie Pi(e) is one of our Pi Day colorways that we created especially for Valentine’s Day. Each color in this colorway represents a different way to express your feelings: red for passion, pink for admiration, peach for intensity and commitment, magenta for harmony and emotional balance, and purple for enchantment.
Like all of our Pi Day colorways, the striping pattern is based on the numeric sequence of pi – 3.141592…, which is a non-repeating number. Thus, the stripe sequence does not repeat within the skein, and you will not be able to get a matching pair of socks (or anything) from a single skein. But if you’re a math geek, that’s part of the fun! We include a stitch marker affixed to the beginning of the sequence (Sky Blue) so you can start your project with the first Pi digit, if you’d like to! Note that anywhere in the sequence where a zero occurs, the corresponding stripe is skipped, and the color progression will reflect that.
Sweetie Pi(e) is available in-stock on the following bases:
*Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yards per 100-gram skein
Bronzed Sparkle – fingering, 75/20/5 SW Merino/Nylon/Bronze Stellina, 438 yards per 100-gram skein
Heavenly – fingering, 80/10/10 SW Merino/Cashmere/Nylon, 437 yards per 100-gram skein
*The Bounce skeins in this batch experienced a bit of a color anomaly in the peach stripe section where there are spots of deeper color concentration. We are discounting these skeins for this reason.
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
