Our Color Play #2 Collection celebrates jewel-toned shades with subtle complexities of depth.
Winter Red is a semi-solid/tonal shade with bright red primary color in semi-solid-like light and dark ranges, all of which have darker, compound undertones. Each of the bases we’ve dyed it on show off the color in unique ways. (Note that the Camel/Silk is a warm, light flaxen color to begin with, and so it modifies the color significantly to a warmer, more muted pinkish red.)
We dyed a subsequent batch of Winter Red, which turned out much darker than the original. We have listed those skeins separately.
Winter Red is available on the following bases (info in parentheses indicates location of that base in the picture):
Sunshine – light fingering, 100% SW Merino 3-ply, 490 yards per 100 gram skein (left)
Floof – lace weight, 72/28 Kid Mohair/Silk, 459 yards per 50 gram skein (2nd)
Pouf – *New!* – fingering weight slub yarn, 90/10 SW Merino/Nylon, 438 yards per 100 gram skein (3rd)
Camel/Silk – *New, Limited Edition!* – fingering, 50/50 Camel/Tussah Silk, 420 yards per 100 gram skein (right)
Recommended care: Sunshine and Pouf are superwash wools and can be machine washed, though hand washing in cool water and air drying them flat is recommended for all hand-dyed yarns and fibers. Floof and the Camel/Silk, however, are more delicate luxury bases, and we recommend exclusively hand washing them in cool water and then air drying flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
