DAY 14BEORN’S HALL
Successfully traversing the Misty Mountains, we find ourselves on the Old Forest Road, which brings us to the great River Anduin. A boat is there for us to use, so we cross the river. On the other side, we hike through a dense oak forest until we reach a place where the forest opens into a hedged glade, gardens and bee hives – now dormant for the season – surround a large wooden house. We recognize this is the home of Beorn, the skin changer, of whom we heard tales in the Hall of Fire. Beorn appears from his hall at our approach, hearing word of us as well. Being Elf friends, he offers us a meal, some hot tea with honey from the hives, and respite from the cold for the night.
