DAY 2 – SAM’S GARDEN!
Arriving in Hobbiton, we come upon the home of Samwise Gamgee. Even in these late days of the year, his garden’s bounty is evident. The last of some hearty greens wait to be picked, and winter squash, a few remaining carrots, and a heaping sack of potatoes are stacked on a table by the door. As we near the gate, Rosie opens the door and beckons us to join the family for luncheon – a bowl of piping hot potato soup! She sees you have some knitting stuffed into your jacket pocket and offers you one of Sam’s spare potato sacks for your project instead. Perfect!
