Welcome to the Yesteryear Series!
Fibernymph Dye Works is now in its 15th year of business. Over the past decade and a half, I have created literally hundreds of self-striping colorways. With new customers shopping here all the time, I thought my 15th year would be a great time to bring back some of our colorways from “yesteryear” so that you can enjoy them again–or for the first time! This listing is a dye-to-order listing for the first four colors in this series. If there are any in-stock skeins of these colorways available, you will find them under the Yesteryear Series category in the shop.
Please choose the colorway and yarn base you would like from the drop down menus. You may also opt to add a coordinating mini to each of your skeins by checking the box below your yarn base choice.
Yesteryear Series – Group 1 includes the following colorways:
• Gnome Place Like Home (five stripes; debuted in 2014, inspired by the book Gnomes, by Wil Huygen, illustrated by Rein Poortvliet.)
• Bring Me Orchids (four stripes; first in the shop in 2015 as part of our Minis of the Month; inspired by various colors of orchids)
• Vintage Books (four stripes; also originally a 2015 Minis of the Month colorway, inspired by faded fabric covers on vintage books)
• Dark Side (four stripes; came to the shop in 2017 as one of the colorways inspired by Star Wars light sabers)
When you choose a colorway from the drop down menu, you will see an image of how the colorway stripes.
These colorways are currently unavailable.
Optional Coordinating Mini – If you are ordering a self-striping skein, you’ll have the option of adding a coordinating 20-gram mini skein for a flat fee of $3.50. This mini will be the same base as your self-striping skein, with the exception of Mountain Tweed — the mini will be our compatible Mountain Tweed Merino Fingering, not BFL. You are welcome to include a note with your order if you want a specific-colored mini, otherwise we will send one of our choice!
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
