–Dye-to-Order: Gandalf the Grey – Middle Earth Imagined Collection

One of the five wizards sent to Middle Earth to help guard its inhabitants against the Sauron’s darkness, Gandalf the Grey is the wizard most of us first come to know and love. He had a fondness for Hobbits, and was instrumental in helping them exercise the true courage and great deeds he knew them capable of, for the betterment of their world. Through his association with Nienna, a Queen of the Valar, he learned pity and patience, traits that served him well in his time in Middle Earth.

Our Gandalf the Grey colorway feature Gandalf Gray for his cloak, Silver for his scarf, Steel Blue for his hat, Dark Taupe for this staff, Wizard White for his flowing beard as well as his cloak after he becomes Gandalf the White, and finally Boot Black for his footwear.

We are offering Gandalf the Grey as a self-striping colorway (with an optional coordinating mini) and as a mini skein sets. Read on for details of each, and then choose from the drop down menu above to pick which item(s) you’d like to order.

SELF-STRIPING

Gandalf the Grey is a six stripe colorway featuring three wide stripes in Gandalf Gray, Steel Blue, and Wizard White, with three narrower stripes between them in Silver, Dark Taupe, and Boot Black.

Gandalf the Grey is shown on Bounce. It is available to order on the following bases:

Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yards per 100-gram skein
Bedazzled – fingering, 75/20/5 SW Merino/Nylon/Silver Stellina, 438 yards per 100-gram skein

Optional Coordinating Mini – If you are ordering a self-striping skein, you’ll have the option of adding a coordinating mini skein for a flat fee of $3.50. This mini will be the same base as your self-striping skein. You are welcome to include a note with your order if you want a specific colored mini (refer to the colors listed for this colorway as your options), otherwise we will send one of our choice!

Recommended care for yarn: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.

All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
