Allentown is a slightly slouchy, unisex hat worked in fingering weight yarn. It features striped ribbing followed by an easy, two-color motif. With only four rounds of colorwork that require catching the floats, Allentown is a great pattern for those who are just starting out on their colorwork journey.
This hat was originally designed with our now-discontinued non-superwash Ridgetop Fingering, so we wanted to re-imagine it with our most popular superwash fingering weight yarn, Bounce, and it worked wonderfully! We hope you’ll enjoy it!
These Allentown kits include everything you need to make this hat:
• Two 50-gram skeins of Bounce, fingering weight, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 200 yards/50-grams
• Download code and instructions for acquiring the Allentown pattern (note that the pattern is provided by digital download using the code in your kit; no paper pattern will be mailed to you)
There are five color options available for the Allentown Hat kits; please make your choice from the dropdown menu above. The second image shows all five color options; click on an option in the dropdown menu to see a full picture of each option.

Recommended care: Though this yarn is superwash and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing your in cool water and then air drying flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color strengths can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
