“Customary” Christmas Pi was inspired by five unusual winter/holiday customs from around the world: Night of the Radishes from Mexico (Red); Yule Cats from Iceland (Black); Tió de Nadal from Catalonia (Brown); the Christmas Pickle from Germany (Green); and Spider Webs from Ukraine (Silver & Gold). We’ll send you an info sheet with more details about each of these customs when you order this colorway!
If you’re unfamiliar with our Pi colorways: the striping pattern of our Pi colorways is based on the numeric sequence of pi – 3.141592…, which is a non-repeating number. Thus, the stripe sequence does not repeat within the skein, and you will not be able to get a matching pair of socks (or anything) from a single skein. But if you’re a math geek, that’s part of the fun! We include a stitch marker affixed to the beginning of the sequence so you can start your project with the first Pi digit, if you’d like to! Note that anywhere in the sequence where a zero occurs, the corresponding stripe is skipped, and the color progression will reflect that.
“Customary” Christmas Pi remains available in-stock on the following bases:
Bedazzled – fingering, 75/20/5 SW Merino/Nylon/Silver Stellina, 438 yd/100-gm

Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
