What Hobbit can resist Second Breakfast when he can get it? Hobbits’ love of good food is well known, so this colorway is an ode to a good, Hobbit-y Second Breakfast…Pi-style! The Second Breakfast colors are inspired by what you might find offered in a Shire mid-morning meal: a raspberry cream scone, nice crispy sausages, fresh berries, and seedy bread with butter & honey.
If you’re unfamiliar with our Pi colorways: the striping pattern of our Pi colorways is based on the numeric sequence of pi – 3.141592…, which is a non-repeating number. Thus, the stripe sequence does not repeat within the skein, and you will not be able to get a matching pair of socks (or anything) from a single skein. But if you’re a math geek, that’s part of the fun! We include a stitch marker affixed to the beginning of the sequence (Raspberry Cream) so you can start your project with the first Pi digit, if you’d like to! Note that anywhere in the sequence where a zero occurs, the corresponding stripe is skipped, and the color progression will reflect that.
Second Breakfast Pi is a five stripe colorway featuring Raspberry Cream, Crispy Sausage, Fresh Berries (tonal), Seedy Bread (tonal), and Butter & Honey (tonal).
Second Breakfast Pi is currently available on the following bases:
Mountain Tweed BFL – fingering, 85/15 SW BFL/Donegal Nepp, 438 yd/100-gm skein
Traveler – sport, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 328 yards per 100-gram skein

Recommended care for yarn: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
