When you dig too deep, you never know what trouble you might awaken. Thus was the Third Age fate of Durin VI and his company of dwarves in Moria as they mined for mithril, leaving the caves as the dominion of the Balrog until Gandalf took him on as he assisted the fellowship early in their quest to destroy the One Ring.

Durin’s Bane features five colors representing the darkness and fire of this evil demon: Darkness Black, Smoke Purple, Molten Red, Firey Orange, and Blaze Gold.

FIBER

Recommended care for fiber: Hand wash only in cool water; air dry flat. These fibers will felt. Note that a minor amount of residual dye may be released from the fiber in the first couple of soaks. This is normal and should not affect the color of the overall spun yarn.

All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
