As part of our new Pollinators Collection, we’re happy to bring you three colorways that first debuted in the original round of our Lepidoptera Club in 2023.
Luna Moth is inspired by the delicate winged beauty also known as the American Moon Moth. These lovely green creatures may seem rare, but that’s largely because they fly nocturnally and have an adult lifespan of only 7-10 days. They are from the subfamily Saturniinae, also known as the giant silk moths. The second image is of a Luna Moth I found in my backyard some years ago!
Luna Moth features three wide stripes of Light, Medium, and Dark Luna Green, punctuated by two wee stripes of Soft Brown and Eye Spot Yellow. The sample was knit in Bedazzled; the full skein shown is on Bounce.
Luna Moth self-striping is available in stock on the following bases:
Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yards per 100-gram skein
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
