Welcome to the second installment of our Yesteryear Series!
Fibernymph Dye Works is now in its 15th year of business. Over the past decade and a half, I have created literally hundreds of self-striping colorways. With new customers shopping here all the time, I thought my 15th year would be a great time to bring back some of our colorways from “yesteryear” so that you can enjoy them again–or for the first time! As I roll out these colorways, they will each be available in-stock in limited quantities on various bases (all dependent on my on-hand studio inventory of the specific striping pattern needed). This second round of Yesteryear colorways will also be available as dye-to-orders beginning in the second half of September 2025. I hope you’ll enjoy coming along with me on this trip though my stripe-y colorways of yesteryear!
——————–
Froot Loops was one of my first six-stripe colorways orignally dyed in my first year of business. It was such a hit, I’m not sure how many hundreds of skeins of this I dyed over the years. The second image is one that I used in those early shop listings. Because some of my dyes that I used back then are no longer available (specifically the purple and blue), I’ve had to update it a bit, but it still maintains the look and feel of the original. The third picture is of a pair of socks I knit out of the colorway, illustrating how it stripes.
I hope you’ll enjoy having Froot Loops back now for a short while, once again celebrating that colorful breakfast cereal that we loved as kids (and maybe still do as adults!)
Shown in the first picture on Bounce and Mountain Tweed BFL, Froot Loops is currently available in stock on the following bases:
Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yd/100-gm skein
Bronzed Sparkle – fingering, 75/20/5 SW Merino/Nylon/Bronze Stellina, 438 yd/100-gm
*Mountain Tweed BFL – fingering, 85/15 SW BFL/Donegal Nepp, 438 yd/100-gm skein
*Squoosh 2.0 – heavy fingering, 75/25 SW Corriedale/Nylon, 383 yd/100-gm skein
Traveler – sport, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 328 yd/100-gm skein
*Oopsie! These skeins of Mountain Tweed BFL and Squoosh 2.0 are being discounted due to some unintentional color travel of the orange dye into the blue stripe. While this will be evident in the blue stripe for a short stretch when knit up, but if you’re not put off by a little color fraternization, the skeins are otherwise just fine!
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
