Welcome to the second installment of our Yesteryear Series!
Fibernymph Dye Works is now in its 15th year of business. Over the past decade and a half, I have created literally hundreds of self-striping colorways. With new customers shopping here all the time, I thought my 15th year would be a great time to bring back some of our colorways from “yesteryear” so that you can enjoy them again–or for the first time! As I roll out these colorways, they will each be available in-stock in limited quantities on various bases (all dependent on my on-hand studio inventory of the specific striping pattern needed). This second round of Yesteryear colorways will also be available as dye-to-orders beginning in the second half of September 2025. I hope you’ll enjoy coming along with me on this trip though my stripe-y colorways of yesteryear!
——————–
Glow is one the speckled stripe colorways I designed in 2018. Speckled stripes add a bit of low-key whimsy to otherwise colorways, inserting small amounts of new or additive colors without needing to be the full focus of an entire stripe. Best of both worlds! Glow features two wide stripes, Toxic Green and Pickle Juice Yellow, with a wee speckled stripe in between that features both of those colors as well as pops of Aqua Shock blue. (For a point of reference, it’s the same stripe pattern that I used in Hypothesis.) See the second image to get a feel for the speckling of that middle stripe (what you’re seeing is the yarn before it has been reskeined, so when knit up, the colors in that speckle segment will be far more integrated with each other than they appear in the picture!)
Shown on Bounce, Glow is currently available in stock on the following bases:
Bounce – fingering, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 400 yd/100-gm skein
Bedazzled – fingering, 75/20/5 SW Merino/Nylon/Silver Stellina, 438 yd/100-gm skein
Traveler – sport, 80/20 SW Merino/Nylon, 328 yd/100-gm skein
Strong DK – DK, 75/25 SW Merino/Nylon, 245 yd/100-gm skein
Recommended care: Though these are superwash wools and can be machine washed, we recommend hand washing in cool water and then air dry flat.
All of our yarns and fibers are individually hand-dyed using professional grade acid dyes. Colorway names are consistent between yarns/fibers dyed with the same dye colors, however color can (and likely will) vary between skeins and between different bases.
We make every effort to assure the colors in our photos are as accurate as possible, but please note that colors can vary from monitor to monitor.
